There are more than ten grounds for obtaining a temporary residence permit in Ukraine, but in practice the most common ones are the following:
- 1. Official employment in Ukraine (obtaining a work permit).
- 2. Family reunification with a foreigner who has a valid temporary residence permit in Ukraine (this category includes the second spouse, children under 18 years (relatives, adopted children or wards).
- 3. Marriage with a citizen of Ukraine.
- 4. Work in the representative office of a foreign company.
- 5. Work in the representation of an international non-governmental organization.
- 6. Work in a volunteer organization.
